Martín Blech
Hi, my name is Martín Blech. I was born in Argentina, studied Software Engineering at UNICEN, and have built my career as both an engineer and artist, combining technical expertise with my passion for music and creative expression. I'm currently based in Portland.
I enjoy solving complex engineering challenges with elegant, efficient, and maintainable solutions. My journey includes work in music technology research, audio fingerprinting, recommendation systems, and iOS development before joining YouTube/Google. There, I served as a Staff Software Engineer on ML Serving and Recommendations Infrastructure for the Discovery team, and developed analytics tools and concert ticket integration for artists on YouTube Music. I'm also the maintainer of a popular Python open source library. After leaving Google in 2024, I've been working on a startup in the music space.
In my creative life, I design and build LED art installations that have been showcased at festivals around the world. I'm also part of Temporal, an underground electronic music collective, where I occasionally perform and feature my art installations during immersive events.
